mine is not an exciting process...i only use mild soap on them rarely if i made fish or something similar..i do have one of the "speedstick" type of things with coconut oil or something that works well...how bout you guys?
also, anyone here have some nice french copper pots/pans?

have any of you guys heard of or used the potato peel method of re-seasoning (or seasoning for the first time) your cast iron? when mixed with oil and salt and heated, it supposedly pulls the remaining wax and grease from the surface.

We scour our cast iron with a chainmail cloth and hot water. Seems to work.

i love frying eggs with butter in my cast iron or steel carbon skillets. i feel like i'm on the goddamn frontier.

yep, we do the bacon first and then the eggs in all the bacon grease..

i have bacon grease in the back of my refrigerator from a couple of weeks back. you bet your sweet jameson'ed ass i'm using it on sunday for eggs.
