Oh great Tulsi Gabbard voted against my mom getting supplemental unemployment benefits for the next 11 weeks. What a hill to die on.

Good for Tulsi. Nobody should vote yes on a bill that they don't even have time to read.

Re: Coronavirus Government Bailout Thread
maybe the bills shouldn't be 5000+ pages with tacked on crap.
Wouldn't it be easier if this bill (or any bill really) was concise and limited to the event/issue that the specific bill is dealing with?
I think it would be easier to archive and retrieve as well for historical purposes.

Why did the progressive wing of the Democratic party demand the $600 check to everybody instead of having a more generous unemployment benefit?

Why limit the votes you're buying to the unemployed?4/5 wrote:Why did the progressive wing of the Democratic party demand the $600 check to everybody instead of having a more generous unemployment benefit?
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

Re: Coronavirus Government Bailout Thread
$600 bucks isn't going to buy anything. There is a legit argument for just buying $600 worth of scratch offs with it if you really need aid.surfndestroy wrote:Why limit the votes you're buying to the unemployed?4/5 wrote:Why did the progressive wing of the Democratic party demand the $600 check to everybody instead of having a more generous unemployment benefit?

Re: Coronavirus Government Bailout Thread
I suppose Amazon got some kind of relief.
I just got notified that they wouldn't be able to deliver my kid's present by Christmas. I'd understand if they were trying to protect their workers, but they're treating their workers like shit and firing them when they ask for COVID protections. If you abuse your staff AND you can't deliver on time, what's the point?

Sounds like Amazon missed the mark.
