It's a specific critique of a game I'm mostly really enjoying!

There's a way to introduce the spirit ashes upgrading system without explicitly stating it. Look at the weapon upgrading or re-specing systems. One of the first save points has an anvil next to it. The option to change your character is introduced after you beat a mandatory boss.

Yeah but this way some people may go the whole game without ever knowing they are capable of upgrading their spirit ashes. I think that’s awesome and hilarious. And it gives you the sense that there could be many things you’re Missing out on and motivates you to experiment and pay closer attention

You're getting closer...

I don’t love everything about it. But I love that it is so boldly its own thing. We need more games like that instead of catering to a mass general audience

Both BotW and this have been tremendously popular. There is definitely a large audience for this type of game, but I wonder if it sort of needs to be with an established franchise to work.

I greatly enjoy bopping around and killing minor bosses in areas where I'm very OP'd. Thinking about going towards a Sword Sage/Deathblade build.

I’ve kind of hit a wall in the game and taking a break. Game is massive.

How far are you into it now?

About the same. 59 hours in the northern part of the map in snow. Just kind of burnt out.

You are not worthy of the Elden ring

Better to play Elden Ring on PC or Xbox? (I am not a fan of using a mouse or keyboard for movement.)

I’ll be back but that much game time in one world in such a short amount of time really burned me out. I’ll see it through to the end eventually. Still a 10/10 game.

Which Xbox? If you don't have a Series X, I'd go with PC and play with an Xbox controller.

I'd go that route for the sake of ease, but that's without knowing the specs of your PC.

I’ve been playing on Series X with zero issues, which is remarkable for a game this big.

I think the underground area is my favorite part of the game.
