in the number 5 or 6 spot. This or Yield. The first 3 songs are all 5 star songs for me (the only 3 five star run in the catalog) and come back, parachutes, marker, and severed hand are also all really good.
I am with speeno in the 2/3rds of a great album camp.
This will always have a special place in my heart because it was exactly what I needed a PJ record to sound like after binaural and riot act.

I think if the production (or is it the mastering?) of S/T were better, more people would rank it higher.
For me, I think there are some good songs on it, but no standouts. It's an album where 1/2 of it has good songs, then the other 1/2 are either bad songs or just OK songs.
My "likes":
Life Wasted, Comatose, Severed Hand, Marker In the Sand, Parachutes, Big Wave.
My OKs:
Army Reserve, Unemployable, Wasted Reprise.
Dislikes:
Gone, Inside Job, Comeback, World Wide Suicide.

S/T has a great EP inside of it.
Besides the obvious production flaws, this album suffers from "subtraction by addition." Its a pretty tiring listen from beginning to end.

Yup. The second half really begins to get boring. Last time I turned it on I decided I'd very quickly got bored just over half way through, and I'd been digging it up till that point.

Seeing as how this discussion just evolves into general stuff about the album, couldn't this have been done in the official S/T album thread?

Just losing Gone and Inside Job would have turned this into a decent album. Man, Gone is such a nondescript trudge.

I like Gone. Replace it with Big Wave and we're good.

Who are all the mods nowadays anyway? Just b and stip, yea? Do you two have phone conversations and de-briefing sessions?

Mecca mods GD, which has got to be the most thankless job on the planet. Bee Girl looks after the trading stuff. Doc just looks good. And we all console B when people are mean to him.

ten-great
vs-great
vitalogy-great
no code-great
yield-perfect
binaural-great
riot act-great
avocado-shit
backspacer-shit
i like avocado and backspacer, just the parts without the punk rock garbage.its not the 90s, they dont do it well.
somebody said the best stuff was no code-riot act, and i just wanted to say thank God i'm not alone in feeling like that. they need to drop the punk rock crap that doesnt work like comatose.and eddie should give up the smokes for an e cig. i smoked spirits too.
my 2 cents.

I'm seeing B in October. What are some talking points you could give me to help make this happen?

Then let B suck your penis instead of Chud.

I probably hadn't listened to this album since 2006, but now I've put it on in my car and it's already playing for more than a week now. There's a real possibility that I like it more than I can remember. Severed Hand, Unemployable & Army Reserve used to be songs I really hated, but I kinda like them now. Marked/Parachutes is still fantastic and could listen to those 30 times in a row.
