This song is becoming one of my favourite Pearl Jam songs for so many reasons.

The instrumental bit at 2:25 is just...... I can't say it in words. I can hear the old Eddie playing guitar there and it's just... I love it.

2:25 - 3:00 is my fav part of the song.

I love that funky pwaaoww waaoowww guitar that comes in at 2.41 ish. So much groove. And i love "set it free-hee hee"

I'm fairly doubtful too. But, there's 2 tin-foil hat conspiracies that give me pause:

1) The tracks are listed 3 and 6. Plus, Kurt's said there were 11 tracks from his "source." (the 11 includes these 2.) The 11 + MYM = the 12 tracks supposedly on LB.

2) The dubious timing of the leak, coupled with the still unknown tracklisting for LB. Market research?

They could be tracks 3 and 6 of the leakers home made lost dogs part deux for all we know and running thier songs by fans first seems odd.

I really want the Betterman (live) track to leak.

Cold Confession would be a killer album and concert closer. I just made the Indifference connection mostly in Ed's vocal performance. This song has the "I will light the match this morning..." fragility we haven't really heard from again besides maybe Strangest Tribe. Apologies if these comparisons were hit upon earlier in the thread. This board is blowing up with fanboy catnip so I haven't been able to keep up.

New theory: this was too good to go on the last two albums. They are saving this for something really special. Lightning Bolt? Harhar.

The opening guitar to this song has a very Radiohead-ish guitar tone to it. Kind of like "You and Whose Army" or "Sail To The Moon"

I love this song. And I mean LOVE. Jeff's bass is sexually arousing. Matt sounds better then ever. The grove these two create is pretty much perfect to my ears. I love Eddie's voice. It's weathered and pained, and that fits this song beautifully. The atmosphere is spacious and dark, which is exactly what I have been hoping to get for 10 years. I couldn't be any happier than to have this song to listen to about 50 times a day for the next month! Haha.
