Yes, I agree it's odd that it wasn't mentioned in the newsletter. But things cost what they cost. I mean they are keeping the concert tix at about $162 all in. That's really good.

I think B might mean--and this is something that I hate--when they post a limited-edition release (like clear vinyl) after it's for sale somewhere else. I'd like this one, but I don't feel like double-dipping.
oh gotcha, well, I dunno, people seem to like to collect the records in different colors so I guess something for everyone
at the end of the day, there are those who will collect and those who complain.
At the VERY LEAST, they could have given us a heads up that it would be available after RSD. With 15,000 black copies out there, I would have waited and tried to get the clear. I can't collect all the colors, but since I'm paying whatever the fuck I'm paying for Ten Club membership and getting jack shit, a little notice would have been nice.
My real preference is that they mix the variant in with the RSD stuff going out to stores, so more people go to stores to get it and some people get lucky.

Then you just sell the surplus through 10C.

I'm sure there's some business reason why I'm stupid.

I was giving folks a heads up since that can make or break a purchase deck on. $60+ for a double album is a lot of money - it is the same cost at base ($44-$48) as the RSD release so no judgment. Just a fact that it is a lot of money. I mean maybe I am aging myself but I remember thinking it was a lot to spend $30 on that.
Oh I'm old and it's a lot of money for a cd/record
Yes it is. I am not blaming Pearl Jam more so than what we have allowed the record industry to become - basically collector fetishism taken to its extreme. Makes me sad. I know I am no spring chicken, but I do miss the days when no one collected them and I could get a Neil Young record out of the dollar bin in at least VG. The tide has turned.

I just renewed my club membership and then was able to buy the CD.

So the CD was $14 plus shipping plus ten club membership…so still over $60.

I think next time they offer something like this, I'm going to buy it at the local store and leave it unopened until Monday night. Then if Pearl Jam does this, I can buy the Ten Club version and return the local store, thus fucking them.

I bought it for RSD because I wanted to hear an official release of a Jack Irons Yield-era show. I am pleased with my purchase.

It's vinyl in 2023, so it's definitely overpriced, but the show is fantastic.

Two thoughts: a) this band hasn't slipped musically near as much a lot of you think they have and b) Eddie doesn't sound nearly as bad now as a lot of you think he does.
