Is it the only Pearl Jam song that use the word doctor ?

Reminds me of the lyrics to The Real Me, but from an adult point of view.
interesting take

It's Stone who plays the post chorus lick and the outtro lick! I would've guessed Mike.

Stone is killing it on this record.

Did not see that coming...

I'm beside myself with this level of Stone activity on the songs.

So many pleasant surprises in the live clips of the new songs so far
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

About to listen to the live version and very excited, since I love this song.

Why is Eddie wearing such an awful hat though the whole show. What a weird look.

Is it me or does Eddie's voice nowadays just always seem to want to drift flat? It's sad hearing his voice only having a fraction of its original beauty. It's not bad for a random human but it doesn't have the EV magic. It's like he's always just barely out of tune, and is lacking its stability and strength and just wavers. Like there used to be this support behind it that hit like a truck but now he kinda sounds just like a guy yelling. OCCASIONALLY he hits some notes that sound great but only in a specific range.

This song is very good, but Eddie's vocal performance is taking away from it :( and their tempo speeding through it.

I wish I could have this album with 2006 Eddie on it lol.

I dunno, I was disappointed with the live version but Im sure if I was actually there live Id have loved it. But this song would have hit soooo much better 20 years ago....he just can't get the same gravitas out of it anymore.

It's still a fun song but I think it could have been a concert highlight once upon a time

Be careful with putting too much stock in these phone videos. They often lack the low end that makes his voice (even in its now diminished state) so impressive. I thought it sounded great in 2022.

That's true! And I saw him live in 2022 and thought he sounded great, better than bootlegs would have you think. I also think he sounds good on the album. So maybe an actual better recording or being there live he would sound better than on that recording.

yep he's definitely flat, it's frustrating because it would be easy to fight against that if he seemed fully conscious of it, but he doesn't

and yeah, this is the only DM song Matt inappropriately speeds through so far; all in all not a bad performance but not one of the best

I will not be shamed for disapproving of Eddie's decision to adopt a fedora as part of his official look! :gomez: lol

I’ll just cross it off the list of things to shame you for then, shall I?

What cathartic emotional space is this outro barreling through?

Seriously! At least wear a baseball or trucker hat, it would look cool instead of a fucking fedora.

And I've said it before, a good haircut would do wonders for Ed. Look how good Scott Stapp is looking these days with the short hair. Same for James Hetfield. Aging rockers trying to hold on to their long hair (Dave Mustaine) just always makes them look old.

Ed did have short hair for like the last 10 years. The forever lightning bolt tour.

So what if he wants his hair long and wear a hat? God, the internet fucking sucks some times. :haha:

Ed looks great.

Mustaine looks 90 but not because of his hair
