I did actually, but even with the adaptor, it does the same thing. I wonder if it’s the greater voltage somehow doing this. My sister used her hair straightener here fifteen years ago and burnt a bit of her hair off.

I got a buddy who is a Realtor in Southern California in real life. When interest rates started climbing and sales transactions slowed down, his family up and relocated to New Zealand. It’s been almost a year now. Talked to him for the first time in a while the other day. They are staying for like another 6 months then moving back home.
During the conversation something came up that triggered this thread about spike moving to Australia, but now I forget what it was that I had planned on posting.

What kind of poisonous snakes are in the part of Australia you live? Red bellies, brown, death adder, taipan? Have you seen any?

Brown and Tiger I believe. Saw one a few years ago during a visit, but none since moving here. I also live in an urban area, but even in the bush, they’re not falling out of trees or curling up under bedsheets. That’s up north.

The start of the NFL season always makes me homesick. I remember this feeling from last

year.
I think part of it is I miss shooting the shit with friends about the games. Maybe next year, I should find a NFL pub to sit in to watch games and meet fellow fans.

definitely
NFL International gaining a lot of steam
when google searching for local bars make sure for 'packers fans' to type 'green bay' and not 'fudge'
although the latter might be a fun experience too

I did my student teaching there in 1999, and aside from the girl I left behind, the NFL season was the biggest void while living down under.

at least nowadays there's ways to watch most if not all games, but the monday morning of it all is very weird. i feel the void on sundays.
