Jurassic 5 "Power in Numbers" is a fantastic & very underrated album

Reading Pitchfork's mixtape feature I was tipped off to this project of Jay-Z's, dropped in 2003 prior to "The Black Album":

Pretty great stuff -- really shows off just what an incredible talent this guy is on the mic, which can get diluted on his albums. Worth a listen.

My son and his mates are on a big old-school hip-hop kick. A most pleasant change-up from some of the recent crapola he's been subjecting me to (but I suffer in silence - don't want to segregate him from me musically in any way, shape or form).

Nas, Wu Tang, Eric B and Rakim, Tribe and all the others are getting big reps at ours lately. Nice.

Today I realized how good Pusha T's Darkest Before Dawn is.

Been way into Madlib and DOOM lately.

The Quasimoto album The Unseen and Viktor Vaughn’s Vaudeville Villain have been dominating my playlists.
