I sure as hell was ready! Nearly busted a nut singing to that one.broken iris wrote:I'm actually not that fond of nothingman so early in the first set. The crowd is not ready it yet.

Re: Brooklyn 2
Night 1 there were a few things that got Ed riled up. Had a conversation with one of the guys from the crew on Sunday night and there were some guitar problems which caused Ed to throw a guitar on the stage floor and ongoing left monitor problems for Ed which he was really not happy about. Also, all the families were there so apparently that amped up the pressure. He had several pretty angry interactions with the side stage crew throughout the show. The idiot in the crowd was fighting with the security staff who were trying to remove him. The guy really was an asshole, but I don't think that's what got Ed fired up at the time. I was in the GA section right where the security guys were trying to get the guy under control. But yeah, that intensity gave the show a dimension they don't usually have these days.stip wrote:broken iris wrote:stip wrote: So people who were there both nights preferred this one?
It's a closer call than the Pit will make you think. Ed got lost in the lyrics a bunch times last night, UK just being the most extreme example, and that kinda discombobulated me as I am singing along. Mike and Matt were so great that it hardly matters and if I wasn't a lame section where everyone was sitting and texting, I probably wouldn't have really noticed. There was just something about Ed during BK1 that you really see often anymore. It wasn't anger, more like focused intensity, like that emotion you see on the face of jungle cat before it takes off after a gazelle. Both shows were amazing, but for different reasons, and I can't pick a winner between them. I'd give the edge to the Barclays shows over the Worcester shows though.
he mentioned some fighting during Night one a few times during night 2 (fist fights). I wonder if that really pissed him off.
I surfaced and all of my being was enlightened.

During Sirens of all songs, right? I was up in 125 and all I could see was a sea of red security people flooding the floor down there.BeingeNlightened wrote: Night 1 there were a few things that got Ed riled up. Yeah it was Sirens for both the guitar situation and the dumbass in the crowd. Very odd.EJ wrote:During Sirens of all songs, right? This was still the best of all 4 NY/Philly shows. Can't wait for a boot!

pearljambootlegs.org has the brooklyn shows now
pearljambootlegs.org has the brooklyn shows now
They're just audience recordings but for the longest time they weren't up. Dunno how good the recordings are especially since the crowd would depend on section and I haven't listened to them yet. But for anybody desperate to hear them there's a way.

Re: Brooklyn 2 - Oct 19th - Barclays Center
These were to great shows, I got the official bootlegs and it's weird. Last exit has a car crash at the start. Ed cant find his place for a bit and jeff doesn't know what's going on at all until nearly the chorus. But then it goes into Hail Hail and it sounds like Stones guitar is out of tune. Sounds terrible.
Anyone else hear it yet?
