Replacements were punk with sorry ma and stink. Hootenany started to see a minor shift with better crafted songs but completely ramshackle punk ethos, Let it Be thorugh Pleased to Meet Me always had punk elements but Westerberg was crafting incredible songs with rock/folk elements. Don't Tell a Soul was kind of the beginning of the Folkier Side.
