oddly enough, the first SK song I illegally downloaded was a B-side, Lions and Tigers, just was the first song I found online back when they toured with PJ

I have received the box set this morning: beautiful package, the book contains a lot of photos sorted by album (with a significant number of shots with Vedder and McCready, and a great picture of Matt and Stone  ). And I have a signed copy of Bury your Friends. :D
I still have to listen to the vinyls: from the mp3's, I had just noticed a significant improvement on the first album (which is really muddy), I am not convinced yet that the other albums needed to be remastered.

My box set arrived yesterday from amazon.ca - 12 dollars cheaper and 12 days earlier than they predicted :hooray:

It's a beautiful package, though I didn't get one of the signed versions - oh well. Look forward to spinning them all in order soon (I hear the first album is significantly improved).

In other news, my B-Sides & Rarities compilation will be released very soon

FAN-MADE PROJECT - NOT FOR SALE

To celebrate the return of Sleater-Kinney, this compilation brings together every B-Side and compilation appearance by the band, as a fan-made companion piece to the 'Start Together // 1994 - 2006' vinyl box-set. These tracks have been losslessly ripped from the original long out-of-print sources (full source information below). Minor edits have been made to some tracks to fade-in/out crowd noise, make volume changes between tracks less extreme, and clean-up the vinyl-sourced tracks. If anyone believes they can obtain a superior rip of the vinyl-sourced tracks, please contact me and I will gladly update this collection.

All songs written by Sleater-Kinney except:
“More Than A Feeling” written by Tom Scholz ©1976 and
“Fortunate Son” written by John Fogerty ©1969.

Please support Sleater-Kinney by purchasing their remastered back-catalogue and new album “No Cities To Love” out January 20, 2015.

Sleater-Kinney's Carrie Brownstein on new album and Australian tour plans
Brownstein also confirmed the news that all Australian fans wanted to hear. Sleater-Kinney would almost certainly be returning to Australia in 2015.

"Yes we are and I believe it will be at the end of 2015," she said. "We'll tour other parts of the world in spring and summer and when it gets to summer in Australia next year we will get there. We are very excited. Playing Australia has always been one of the highlights of any project we've worked on musically. Certainly in the past with Sleater-Kinney we have lots of fond memories."
(I just realised this was actually from last week, I guess you may've seen it already.)

Yeah. I wonder if they'll do a national tour or just festivals - what did they do in 2006?

Seeing them this February in DC at the 9:30 Club.

This is the same venue I saw them last time, back in 2004 (maybe '03, maybe '05 - IDK), and it was easily one of the loudest shows I've ever been too; one of the best too.

+1000.

I'm guessing they are headlining Sasquatch or something and there's a holdup in announcing shows. That, or they just don't have a date yet.
