We’re excited to announce that Elliott Smith’s final studio album, From A Basement On The Hill, is being repressed in celebration of its 20th anniversary and is now available for pre-order. Originally released posthumously in 2004, this new edition has been remastered by Adam Gonsalves at Telegraph Mastering, using brand new digital transfers from the original 1/4” tape mixes by Rob Schnapf and Joanna Bolme, overseen by official Elliott Smith archivist Larry Crane at Jackpot! Recording Studio.
really wish they could add some unreleased songs or sumpin. not sure anyone could notice the difference in this remaster. i'll give it a listen on spotify

At least the right people are involved (Crane, Schnapf and Bolme).
We probably have to wait until the 25th anniversary for the archives to be mined.

Cold snap in Houston brings the need for Either/Or.

I really want to rank Roman Candle higher. It has No Name #3 on it, which is so good that it could almost carry the whole record's reputation in my head. Also love the way the album closes with that sadcore surf instrumental. And yet, the rest of his catalog is much more familiar and listenable to me in various settings. I really have to be in a mood to put on Roman Candle or S/T...though S/T has pound for pound more gold.
I need to listen to more Heatmiser to contrast with Roman Candle/ST

Right. I get that. What I mean is that it would be an interesting exercise in Elliott Smith career rabbit-hology to hear him break from Heatmiser tradition in real time. A self-guided tour, if you will

Ah. Well, thank you for the heads up there. I had no idea about all of that. Still, this thing looks incredible.
Also, how is it only $50? Is the shipping like $25?
Seems super cheap for a three LP set in this current vinyl extortion climate.

Someone told me today that I look like I like Elliott Smith, which I don't think is actually true but it was a really nice thing for them to say

If any of the photos I've seen of the person I believe to be you on social media, I have to say that's absurd. But it is a nice compliment. And though I don't see it? It is nice to hear.

Maybe it wasn't you look like a person who would like him. Maybe it was you seem like a person who would like him. Maybe I give off a sad and sincere vibe
