Thoughts on the Niners' side of things:
--The new stadium looks awesome. That said, it really doesn't sound that loud, at least on TV. Then again, it's only the preseason so it's too early to tell. I'm a bit disappointed it wasn't that loud because the Broncos didn't get to practice the silent counts that much.
--The Niners need a new kicker. Dawson missed two fairly easy shots.
--Blaine Gabbert really is terrible. Sorry, M_D. I'm embarrassed that I thought he was the best QB to take in the 2011 draft.
--Jed York is making me feel old. He's my age and he already owns an NFL team. I am glad that he's running the team more like his uncle and less like his mother. The NFL is better when the Niners are good.

Bammer is doing his best, Nate.
He's skipping a few levels to full on: "this IS the next NFL dynasty" mode.
What's in between?
Year-long shock that your favorite team, which failed to do so for so many years, finally won a SB. The dynasty fantasy talk starts when your team is on the verge again.
The way you describe it, that actually doesn't sound like a big deal. Until someone beats them or the entire roster is stripped I think there is sufficient reason to expect to win again.

I thought you'd be going more the obnoxious fan route. Something along those lines. Or fans starting fights with fans of other teams. I dunno, but the Pats did arguably have a dynasty going there and therefore you can't really blame their fans for believing in it.

PS - I hate Tom Brady.
Imagine that feeling after the team you root for wins again.

Agreed on all points. Despite the score, I watched most of this.

I was drawn in by the new stadium (gorgeous), particularly the decision to stack the luxury boxes on one side, giving them the opportunity to bring the opposite side's upper deck stands closer to the field. It looked and felt like the type of stadium that could get really loud, but portions of that large 'open air' space could drain some of that...

Well, I don't see anything wrong with it and then when either bolded item takes place, then that's that. But we're not there yet.

The Seahawks will have a very difficult time repeating IMO, but they have built their team extremely well. The Niners, Saints and Eagles will be their stiffest competition this year in my mind. I think Green Bay could have repeated in 2011 had Nick Collins not gotten hurt as the league overall wasn't quite as good that year. That was such a huge loss for them and they've struggled to replace him since.

Well this game is boring as hell. Doesn't look like either of these teams are going anywhere this year. Maybe the Redskins since the NFC East still sucks.

EDIT: Here's one reason why:

Connor Shaw is the best quarterback on the Browns.

If not him it will be some other useless, untalented, 2nd string QB who can't pass, but has an 'interestin' personality....

Caveat: I believe that Johnny Football will be among the NFL's all-time draft "busts" when it's all said and done.

That said, the Skins were giving it to him last night; I imagine those d-linemen let him hear it after that sack (the skins also did that money thing he does, too).

if you're referring to tim tebow, he's gone and commenting on college games now.

I dunno if someone can be qualified as a bust if they're taken 22nd (unless the team throws everything behind him and he gets the starting job in Week 1).

take it to that thread.

part of the reasons i can still enjoy watching ND is b/c i don't need to watch abc/espn to see their games. ditto for the sec & cbs.
