With all those creepy "Eddie Vedder as Jesus" pictures floating around, you'd think we'd have one where he has set up shop in the temple and is hawking recordings of all his old sermons.

haha wtf, why does this band insist on releasing the stuff that's incomplete. the Ten boxset live album, constitution hall and now this one. not to mention the fuckery with unplugged.
CopperTom wrote:Just face it, there are few complete recorded shows sitting in the vault.
Exactly.
I'm not sure how anyone can complain about missing material when the songs simply weren't recorded. It's fortunate that the majority of those shows were still captured given there wasn't any forethought to future releases at the time.
I doubt many pre-2000 shows exist without some portion of the show missing.

Where have you gone, Bill Graham? Our nation turns its lonely eyes to you.

Actually, at least they aren't Pete Townshend.
He recorded the entire US leg of the Tommy tour, then burned the tapes in a snit fit when his engineer didn't bother to listen to the entire tour and pick out the best bits for him.
Then, when the guy begged him to save at least one show for fuck's sake, he sarcastically responded "Ahhh, but which one?"

I think Bill Graham's archive features an incomplete recording or 2, seriously doubt most of it will ever be released anyway.

I'd like to think that the majority of 1998 shows are complete given they initially recorded the Pacific tour with the intention of releasing a show from it, and then the NA tour for LO2L.
Then again, Constitution Hall was released and it was incomplete (though like Bellingham I believe it was simply chosen for release because it was 'ready to go' and didn't require much additional production effort).

Though it's sometimes enjoyable to make light of Ten Club's foibles, I can't help but feel quite a lot sympathy for them when reading the discussions about this release on the official forum.
Good lord, what a bunch of whiny, entitled, unpleasant jerks.

Agreed.
And frankly, I'm glad the tapes exist at all. I'd love them to release a complete show, but if all they have is incomplete tapes they should just hire Lowlight, Ridley, you or me to make a mix and release that. If they gave me $100, a case of wine and access to the Pacific Rim 1998 tour on the condition I have a month to make them a mix to release, I'd fucking agree to that in a second.

If they let you guys into the vault to curate a live release/compilation then Pearl Jam would have proven me wrong in thinking they could never get me excited for a new release ever again.

I've emailed 10C management about this. I made a solid case for you guys and as a moderator my email should get through and have some pull.

So, who's going to buy this and tell us all if it's any different than what we already have?
Digital download now available

Or have we already determined that it's not?
