Pendulumorphosis sounds pretty kick ass. I assume this is a demo, but it's quite different from the final product.

Do we know for a fact that it has anything to do with Pendulum other than the title? Also, is this online anywhere yet?

If I could rip it, I would. The bass line is the same, so it must be an early version of the song, or at least some kind of offshoot.

Digital file is available for Ten Club, for me anyway.

As you might imagine based on the title, this seems to basically be the baseline from Pendulum plus Philip Glass' "Metamorphosis 2" piano piece that was used as the intro music to shows at various points.

Unfortunately it's not the 'instrumental' version of Pendulum teased in the 2013 tour announcement video. It's actually a new piano-based version of Pendulum (that kind of resembles Metamorphosis 2 in style) put together entirely by Jeff Ament - proving yet again that he is currently PJ's MVP.

The fact that it was 'recorded and mixed by John Burton' and played as intro music in 2013 means it was most likely recorded on the road on the 2013 tour.

That piano in the middle sounds like after you beat a Super Mario World game and mario falls down out of Bowser's castle or ship.

Wow. That is the most surprising (and welcome) thing I've heard released by this band in quite some time.

This is what I thought Pearl Jam would become. This is what Pearl Jam will never be.

Don't give up hope yet. Maybe someday they'll release something like this as a X-mas single b-side. That would be cool.

Fuck pearl jam.

how about we just crank guitars to 11 and distort them and blend them so much you have no feel for space or whats going on or any intricacies and put a bunch of bells and whistles and freeking lazers and sharks and ed way out in front and write the straight ahead punk rock music we have done for the last 25 years instead.

This is pretty fucking cool. My only gripe is it sounds a bit over modulated when the notes really hit. May have been mastered too hot. With some spacey, atmospheric production this could be outright haunting.

They need to get out of seattle and get a new producer. Seriously.

Be careful what you wish for, Strat. If hearing just one song that you really like inspires this much rage, then hearing an album's worth of this kind of stuff might cause a complete mental breakdown.

At least they will emote a strong reaction out of me instead just the ol' "Oh, hey pearl jam"
