I think right now the potential second teams we have (if no one else claims them) are...
Skitch - Cincinnati Reds
numbers - Houston Astros
#BRL - Atlanta Braves or Milwaukee Brewers
Am I missing any?

I think this is gonna end up being pretty competitive. I mean, obviously the Yankees, Cardinals, and Red Sox are gonna be the favorites, but when you break it down to just individual seasons the way we are, I actually (probably naively) think the field gets a lot more wide open. Those big three are gonna have benches stocked with HOFers, but if you can throw out eight guys with insane seasons in the field every day and cull together 4 great seasons from starters, you've got a legitimate shot.
Also, I expect this to be way more heated than the last tournament.

So what's the minimum days off between starts? I vote for 3 so you can't go below a 4 man rotation.

Also, our Red Sox team after 162 simulations is 98 - 64 (0.605). Many of those are against the Chudville Nine, but some are against classic Sox teams and some are against Lament's White Sox and Skitch's Reds.

Babe Ruth is a crapshoot though.

I'll have the Astros team up in a bit, I think I could be in contention for this teams best shortstop.

That's funny because the Chudville Nine can beat Cy Young no problem.

Yeah, we're gonna do the same rule as the last tournament, three games in between starts. Each team will have the opportunity to start a guy on two games' rest a few times. The number will depend on how long the season is. I'm thinking if it's a thirty game season we'll let people do it twice. It's up for discussion though.
Also up for discussion is the playoff format. The big question is does everyone get in?

I think if we get close to 16 teams it should be an 8 team playoff.

We're at 11 teams now, and if it stays like this let's do a 6 team playoff with the two best records getting a first round bye.

I'm hoping to kick off the season on October 6th. We'll probably do two sets of games a day. I'm thinking we'll take the weekends off (or at least maybe Sunday).
With the Astros, Reds, Mariners, and either the Braves or Brewers being added as second teams, we're at fifteen teams. I'm hoping we end on an even number.
#BRL, who would you prefer to be your second squad be?

Yes, I like that.

I'd be against divisions for the same reason I'm against them in fantasy baseball. They're completely arbitrary. Just run all the games and the teams with the best records make the playoffs.
