Anyone else check out the linear notes yet? Fucking awesome to see that Mike Johnson played on a majority of the songs--like the first time in 12 yrs prob my favorite contributor on Mark's 90s albums.
Really, Mike is there again? Nice.
I love his Dino Jr phase too.
Yeah man, I know I was stoked to see that, too--I hope he continues to be a regular collaborator again. Ditto on the Dino Jr work. Other notables on Imitations are Barrett Martin, Mark Pickerel, Alain Johannes, Jeff Fielder, and Duff McKagan.

Speaking of Mark, Mike, and Dino Jr....I wish there was a better quality rip of this:

Not much info out on it yet, it just appears to be a song on the anthology coming out later this year/early next. I pasted the tracklist (copied from Light In The Attic's site) on the previous page (I think).

Alright, I'm eight songs deep into Bubblegum. This thing doesn't suck.

Blues funeral is similar. Scraps is his more acoustic side.

There is a companion ep to bubblegum called here comes that weird chill which is amazing

Well so far, and I'm only three songs in, I'm LOVING Blues Funeral. Gravediggers Song and Bleeding Muddy Water are already two of my favorite Lanegan songs. I know I'm just getting started. But holy shit. Anyway.... I'm going to cool off and soak this stuff up. I don't just want to fly through everything.

I'll grab Bubblegum and Blues Funeral next week and listen to those two until I know them by heart. Then I'll dive deeper.

This is gonna be fun!

I'm on Ode to Sad Disco right now. Which is so fucking awesome, it almost hurts. It's only been one listen a piece, but right now -- based on first impressions only -- I'm feeling Blues Funeral a lot. Bubblegum is badass, to be sure. But, again, based on only first impressions, Blues Funeral is speaking to me a bit more.

We'll see how/if that shifts and moves as I get to know both of these gems better.
