I'll take a few pics once it arrives. Its a cheap ass guitar. I'm not expecting much in terms of playability and know I'll have to gut it and rewire in all new electronics. Pickups, tuners, pots, everything. If it can be worked out I'll try and wire it up like Jimmy Page's guitars. The issue I've read about deals with how the neck fits in the pocket of the body, the heel. Because its acrylic, its gonna weigh 14, 15 lbs and there could be issues with how sturdy that major connection ends up being.

The tuners are as awful as the stock strings. It either needs new tuners or a whole new Warmoth neck. Made in China as expected. And surprisingly, its not as heavy as some of the Dillion Strat and Tele models I've picked up. Because its an SG body its already thinner, so its a little heavier than a regular Les Paul.

Yeesh. I can't deal with gear made in China since picking up a $200 mandolin. They didn't even try to hide the fact that its as structurally sound as a cardboard box.

if you're going to gut that thing you should drill it out in a few strategic places and wire it up with LEDs

Yeah, some Chinese stuff is truly hit or miss. The neck on this is probably in the range of a mid to low-end Epiphone. The nut needs to be filled down a little bit, but adding new strings instead of the cheap factory ones made a difference, as did tightening up the screws in the tuners. Those still need to be replaced, but have to stay put until I can find Grovers. Its definitely not something I'd record with expecting stellar results, but the wiring is solid, and the pickups aren't terrible. I was able to snag a set of 3 Lace Sensors last night, but couldn't find a set of humbuckers in a good price range. If I can eventually add push/push pots, that'd be ideal.

I've seen those mods and considered it for sure, but for now I'm gonna let that go. I've collected a few other junk guitars that I want to hotwire and breathe like back into before I take this one apart.

I recent changed to flatwounds and I'm never, ever going back. They may not suit everyone's playing style or sound but I think they're perfect.

Less...sproinginess, I guess? Each note feels more round, more defined. They're a different feel under the fingers too: there's no noise when you move your fingers along the string, for instance.

They're ostensibly for jazz, which is admittedly something I'd like to really learn to play more of, but they're just as good for other styles too. I've heard of some stoner rock guys swearing by them.
