I forgot to post these when they came out last month, but that's probably because I didn't really care for them, and thus, for the first time since I've really been a fan, I'm not particularly interested in the upcoming Deerhoof album, The Magic (June 24).
This sounds like more stuff in the vein of their last couple albums, which have not been very satisfying in the long run. I'm sure I'll find this on Spotify or whatever when it releases in full, but I'm not going to buy it unless they prove me wrong.

New Die Antwoord mixtape dropping this week. The first two songs are pretty chill, which isn't my favorite mode of Die Antwoord, but I'm still looking forward to it.

I'm willing to admit that I don't mind a bit of pop here and there, and Yeasayer have always done a pretty good job of delivering that particular style of tune pretty well. Here's "I Am Chemistry" from their recent release Amen & Goodbye. Warning - catchy.

Transcombobulation, an album of analog synth duets by Mike Smith & Jonathan Adjemian with drum machine accompaniment. Released back in March through Smith's new All-Set Editions imprint.
