Sure, and that makes sense. It's really well drawn and memorable in the book. I think most people remember the "honky" stuff more than any other part of her origin story.
I trust what these guys are doing. Everything I've seen/heard, all the rumors, seem like they're trying to get it right and make something interesting. So, whatever they end up doing, I'm in. But it would be great if they didn't make a change like that just because.

Trying to get through the Gunslinger, but goddamn... this is shit.

I like The Gunslinger way more than The Drawing of the Three. But I'm in the minority. You'll like the second one a lot more probably.
But there's really no arguing how good 3, 4 and 5 are. You'll fucking eat those right up. Hang in there.

mikejasond wrote:I mean Book 1 bored me, to the point where I honestly wasn't going to keep reading. I was also mad at Roland for letting Jake die. And the writing was pretty stupid at times - "Go then, there are other worlds than these" because that's what a kid would say as he drops to his death. I know he wasn't just a normal kid but I still think that part was really stupid.
Then I was like 'eh Ill try book 2' and oh man it was such a different ride. It was like a totally different book altogether. I LOVED the part of Roland seeing the world through Eddie's eyes. It was so bizarre but so good. That whole book was cool, the only thing I didnt like was Odetta/Detta - that was boring, but the other doors I really enjoyed - especially Eddie's. The third book continued that momentum and made it even better.
i hope you're right...

Wizard and Glass was my favorite. After it, books 5-7 were somewhat of a let-down.

Of course, it's been close to 20 years since I read it. I think after I finish my current stack of books, I'll re-read this series. It's been a long time.

that honky stuff from Dark Tower was practically unreadable. It was a relief when they moved past it.

It would be better if Snowball appeared at the end as God.

That actually would be better.
You should write a book, Burt.

Yeah, bitching about other people's books is way easier and a lot more fun anyway.

I've said the same thing about masturbation for years now.
