I'm pretty sure Family Reunion and Farewell were always going to air together as an "hour-long" finale. I think the decision to include A Fool's Hope came later. But yeah, Rebels is good at having episodes lead into others. I've loved the way they've handled this final run. Two episodes at a time, episodes that are obviously meant to be paired, is a good way to go.

The reaction to it is so fucking eye rolling. Majority of Star Wars fans don’t even watch Rebels but hey!! We can’t miss an opportunity to have a bitch fit meltdown on the Internet!!
‘TIME TRAVEL IN STAR WARS!! THEYVE FUCKING RUINED STAR WARS!!’
there is literally no pleasing this fan base. It’s so completely offputting and embarrassing

I was fine with it. And it essentially started and ended right there, because the temple was destroyed

I didn't think it was any more crazy than the Father/Sister/Brother thing in the Clone Wars series. Both were mind bending for the SW universe.

Really cool episode of rebel force radio where they go back and play interviews with Filoni and the cast talking about the mortis arc and what it means. He’s so coy and evasive about the father son and daughter but basically saying it’s sowing seeds for things to come.
Well worth a listen

Lads
The final episodes were shown to a load of LFL pods and brownnosers last night and spoilers are beginning to appear on twitter etc
Be careful what you read out there.

Finally watched the most recent episode. It was good but the time travel/bridge thing has me confused. I'm not not familiar with the father/son/daughter thing though.

Maybe confused is the wrong word. I'm concerned about the possibilities of introducing time travel/gates in the Star Wars world. Seemed like a convenient plot device. Is this gateway only at the one Jedi Temple? Why at Lothal?

Inside the portal I think is open to all interpretations. He’s inside the force?
The doorways out of it all seem personal to him I think. Though on me of the portals have fathiers running around them. (The horses in TLJ) could that be a link to the future? Ezra survives and trains Broom boy? Anyone’s guess.
Going off the assumption that the Temple on Lothal is the only temple with this kind of portal. Why else would the emperor pick that one when there temples all over the galaxy? Presumably he’s had them all raided and investigated to see what’s in them? The emperor would have free access to the Jedi archives and library on Coruscant at this point so he knows basically everything they knew. And they knew an awful lot. It was also originally built over a Sith temple so perhaps the portal he was trying to access is in that structure underneath the main Jedi temple? Who knows. Doubt we will see it used ever again.
Time travel (it wasn’t really time travel) won’t be a thing in Star Wars.
Unless Ezra goes back in and re-emerges 30 years later? That could fix not having to kill him off and get him out of the way of the OT and Luke can still be the only Jedi left?
Rambling but just some ideas

Yeah I definitely like that idea that it was more of him being inside the force, given that's kind of how the father/son/daughter operated, and it was all pretty specific to Ezra. All the portals they showed had to do with his experiences

Ooh I kind of like this idea. Could end the series with Ezra going back into the portal somewhere and just disappearing
