Now that we're possibly up against the guy that lost once, has become less popular since, and will be spending all of his campaign money on court cases OR someone less popular ...

... I'm not sure why the Democratic ticket needs to change at all.

Biden/Harris 2024

Would you seriously take that over a Newsom/Whitmer ticket?

I'd rather have Whitmer in office than Biden, but at this point, does any Democrat have a chance of jumping into this race and beating the Republican candidate? Probably not.

I'm happy to have Biden in office for 4 more years, or Harris if necessary, and then I'd love to see Whitmer run in 2028.

Newsom, I understand, is an asshole that everyone hates. I don't know much else about him.

Give me Biden/Whitmer. Whitmer needs the exposure if she's going to run next time.

I liked the analysis I saw a while ago that the DNC could keep Illinois Governor JB Pritzker in the wings just in case something happens. Not so much because he's a popular Midwestern governor but more because he is a billionaire willing to spend his own money on a Presidential campaign. So there'd be no fundraising problem, etc. A funny idea. Find the richest Democratic Governor and give him the job

I don't know who that is, but any billionaire would make a shitty President.

I have no problem with Harris, but "excited" is your word.

I thought polling had her as possibly the worst performing option vs. generic R. Some level of enthusiasm would be needed to overcome that, if it is the case.

Without googling, name three things Whitmer has done as governor that she could use to make the case to voters in the presidential election

I'm from Michigan, so it's probably not fair, but she acted quickly to secure abortion rights in Michigan post Roe v Wade, she was a big proponent of legalized marijuana and worked to repeal Michigan's right to work law.

obv Biden needs to keep Harris so as to not rock the boat / expose himself to criticism

sometimes her boobs look large and if you stare at them it can make you feel good

so, you know, it could be worse
