finally watched "Weapons"

much better than "Barbarian", it juggles its different tones well; I made a bad decision to watch it during the day, so it didn't have as much atmosphere as I wanted, but I'm gonna watch it again before my rental is up; it won't be my favourite this year (that's still 28 Years Later), but it's up there

yeah, its way more solid than Barbarian. I liked the storytelling better and both character development and montage felt way more solid.

I might do a rewatch tomorrow.

finally watched "Bring Her Back"

SO intense and disturbing but I absolutely loved it and felt every emotion, absolute cinema; probably tied with 28 Years Later for my favourite horror film of the year so far, but I'll watch it again before my rental is up to make sure

I actually regret renting this, should've straight up bought it

Its a great film yes. I loved how they shoot it, the framing, the use of the space and the sound. Cast was really strong too and i also felt it very strong thematically.

really, I can't think of any weak points - maybe a pacing hiccup here and there? but really, everything was just firing on all cylinders; and yes, every actor was incredible, bravo especially to the youngsters! what a final girl Sora Wong / Piper was

also I know I'm the friend who's too woke or whatever, but knowing she's visually impaired in real life is just the icing on the cake in terms of casting really

We watched Weapons last night. Went in blind. I'm not sure what I expected but I was surprised how silly it was in spots. Seemed intentional. The final sequence was shot like a comedy. I'm not generally a fan of rewinding and watching the same scenes from different POV and I found it a bit tedious here. Usually these horror movies have an underlying message that hammers you in the face but if this one had it I missed it. Over all I liked it I just assumed it would be more scary. We are gonna see the new Conjuring today hoping for the best!

Finally watched Weapons and loved it a lot. A step up from Barbarian which I also loved. Very effectively unsettling and creepy, but also a lot funnier than I was expecting.

I'm glad I managed to avoid any spoilers about
Spoiler: show

Fun stuff!

yeah, i also feel its better than Barbarian. As much as i loved it when i saw it in the theatre, i did a recent rewatch and the second part was not as strong as the first one.

Im interested on watching Weapons again to see how it holds. But i had so much fun when i saw it.
