I tend to group Radiohead albums into the good ones:

Kid A
In Rainbows
Amnesiac
The King of Limbs
A Moon Shaped Pool

And then the others.

Yeah that’s right. It sounds to me like they’re going for a Radiohead sound. And I already admitted that I could be wrong but it’s just the feeling that I get so I don’t know why you keep trying to pile on. Whatever floats your boat though

And yeah Trager was right think it does have more to do with that guys voice than anything although I think it’s in the music too. It’s just more like I said the aesthetic not necessarily technically copying.

Ouch!
I'm not much of a fan of later day Muse, but love their earlier stuff

Yeah that was kind of a more extreme example I think. I can find myself enjoying a muse song or two. Scott Stapp just sounds like a dying cow.

I think it’s because you say you could be wrong but earlier called people incompetent for not seeing the similarities

I'll bite as I love both bands.

I think Muse's first album did have an early Radiohead vibe to it (it was produced by John Leckie who produced 'The Bends' after all), but I think their early sound owed just as much to Jeff Buckley. 'Exit Music' and 'Pearly' good are examples of the Radiohead template that Muse clearly adopted in their early years.

From Absolution onwards though I think any Radiohead influence had been superseded by that of RATM, Queen and Led Zeppelin.

i get the comparison, but Muse doesn't have any song as good as "Exit Music". they can get an orchestra for the crescendo and its still not going to be as good. i get the comparison to radiohead, but in Muse's defense they've become their own thing. i'm not a big fan but i can see why people like them.

To be fair 99.99% of bands don't have a song as good as Exit Music :P

Muse have definitely become their own thing, which is why so many fans have jumped ship in the second half of their career. They're big and silly, over the top and oh so obvious without a sense of subtley - kind of a comic book superhero band. I doubt anything they ever do is going to come close to the heights they reached on those first four albums, but among the cringeworthy clunkers I always find a handful of really enjoyable songs on each subsequent album.

Oh, forgot to do this:

A++
Hail to the Thief
