No it doesn't . The galaxy is like, really really big. Some places were free and in others the empire held on. Other places may have celebrated a major defeat but wet not yet free. Think of the fall of the Roman Empire or the Soviet Union


The empire still existing is probably the most realistic thing in these movies

To be fair, those were Special Edition additions, I believe. Maybe the writers are ignoring them?

i dunno man, tauntauns look a lot better on vhs.

They should have made these available all along. I watched The People vs. George Lucas, and one guy had a good point. Even if the original movies were only available as part of a 100 disc, $5000 boxed set ... at least people who wanted them would have an avenue to get them.

I think it's the perfect time to start the boys on their Star Wars experience, so we can watch the new movies together at the cinemas as they get released.

I forgot I hadn't updated on this. Since then my boys have seen the original trilogy, and they fucking loved it. At the end of ROTJ, when it showed everyone celebrating the destruction of the Death Star, both boys were jumping and cheering around the lounge room, it was hilarious. I gave them their own copy on VHS and I'm fairly sure they've already worn the tapes out. They're constantly quoting lines, and my youngest now has his own Darth Vader outfit and toy light saber, after much pocket money earning.

We recently watched Episodes I and II. They seemed to like them, more-so Episode I. I haven't watched the prequel trilogy in such a long time, that I thought I remembered Ep II being somewhat better than I, however Ep II was so fucking boring in so many places. I gladly skipped through a few parts of the movie (the cardboard romance, and the mind numbing politics) because the boys looked quite bored during those parts. The only parts they seemed to like were the Jango Fett and droid factory scenes, and the Jedi battle in the arena. Really, I kinda regret showing them now because of how much the prequels pale in comparison to the originals.

Either way, that's pretty much it for now as Ep III is not really suitable for them at the moment. In the next year or so, my oldest will probably be able to see it, mainly because I'd like to be able to take him to see Ep VII.
