i have time to listen to this thing once a day, if that. So I'm still anxious to hear songs. I don't have time in my life right now to overplay records.

I have about an hour or so drive to work, and back. So I get to listen to it twice a day at least.

I've also put on it a couple of times on the MP3 player dock, after dinner while cleaning up and getting the kids sorted out. The boys like to use this time to get out their toy guitars and jam away in their pajamas.

But they go and film a pointless, lacklustre video of the single for which we already have a video (a good one). And of course it's on Youtube anyway.
Yeah, to be honest, I expected to get videos of those interviews. I also anticipated getting the MYM and Sirens videos in some format that I could add them to my ipod.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Seeing the vignettes made me yearn for a full length SVT-esque DVD. A whole behind the scenes look at LB, complete with the interviews. It'd be nice if it came with an option to watch a version of the film that doesn't involve B'OB.

I don't think BO'B is a problem on this record. I know I'm alone in this, but I really have no problem with his work here.

There are tracks where he is a problem and tracks where he's not noticeable.
A good producer shouldn't really be noticeable in the sense that it detracts from the music (obviously).
It's actually mentioned very little in comparison to some more obvious tracks but I think MYM is a pretty prime example of BO'B fucking up a song, but it doesn't stand out because the song is good enough on its own merits to still be great. To me that is in no way produced or mixed like a punk song.

I really feel like on the whole he lets them sound like what they actually sound like. The few flourishes he did seem to add (specifically in the title track) are things I really like. These songs succeed and fail completely on their own merits for me.

I don't really dislike the guy, I've just been caught up a little much in the 'We hate B'OB club'. I think generally he does some good things for the band, but it just feels like he was a little too involved this time around in things like the Future Days live performance, the listening party, and the interviews.

I think any of the marketing should just involve the band, I don't really want to hear about, or see, who is the producer or any of the background people involved. I understand they all do important jobs, but at the end of the day it's the band that writes, creates and performs the music.

BO'B thinks he's Rick Rubin, and even Rubin isn't that involved in promotion

They sent me a shipping confirmation for the vinyl a week ago but the tracking confirms they haven't shipped it yet.

for the most part I agree. I do share the issues some people have with the piano on FD.

I'm a bit frustrated that I really like a lot of what he's done here... But then, FUTURE DAYS starts. The inclusion of LTRP and the chorus of Infallible (my other two real sticking points) are not BoB's fault.

I'm looking forward to it. You'll have to talk about the styles meshing together. I don't mind an awkward meshing, but the band has mentioned motown, and I've said I hear "Whiter Shade of Pale". Does it GO with the verse? Because I like both elements enough, I just don't know if I like them together.
