How does his protectionism fit into the blue/red divide? On the one hand, he's arguably been even more protectionist than Trump. On the other, that was once the union left position before dems abandoned unions.

Over him dropping dead, or being re-elected?

I have concerns. I do not want to see Harris become president via Biden’s death. I don’t think she is fit to serve in that role and I don’t think we will like the reaction to that event in our culture.

You shouldn't worry too much about turnover in middle management.

when you say fit what do you mean?
who cares if we will like the reaction to that event in our culture. that should not be the benchmark as to weather someone is electable or fit to serve

I read a commentary a while back that I thought was illuminating and it said she served well as a liberal-leaning prosecutor at the state level, then basically had to sellout to progressives to win at the federal level and she’s never been able to balance these two personas and thus ends up like a cackling maniac when asked anything but the most softball questions

The Dems still fully embrace unions such as the NY Times union, whose main function is to narc on members that are insufficiently progressive.

nah that was def different than McConnell ... i think what that was is
Biden likes McCarthy
McCarthy likes Biden
McCarthy has to keep up a public persona of disliking Biden to stoke his base
but McCarthy actually wants to just be a moderate deal maker
and Biden and McCarthy get along behind closed doors
and Biden started expressing sympathy and was probably about to say something super complimentary like 'we are good friends' or 'i know he hates that side of his party' and realized he needs to keep that to himself
for the sake of McCarthy's public fascade
bring back Dave A

It was the only version of the video circulating. He definitely forgot what he was talking about mid sentence though. Not sure how he will defeat megarepublicans

If it's the only video than nothing happened. Mitch McConnel, at least the first time, did not forget what he was talking about. Through the entirety of this video, Biden was alert and responding to his environment. You can make all the arguments you want about his age, but the original tweet comparing this to McConnell's "incident," is not supported by the video he posted.

Yeah no kidding it was not the same as McConnell, hence the word "style", but Biden total lost what was happening and was lucky the reporter rescued him. This is not good for the party, the country, or the planet.

Joe’s been doing that since year one and probably longer. Not great, but nothing new here.

Biden administration waives 26 federal laws to allow border wall construction in South Texas:

No snark here, this must be done if we want some semblance of the country left.
