Pffft. I'll take anything by Matt C. over the adult contemporary shit the rest of the band has been writing for the past 10 years.

Yeah, but their fans are now contemporary adults, so...

I hope so, doing another US tour without a new record would seem a bit futile.

(Well, apart from the piles and piles of money.)

In that interview from South America, Mike said he expected they would begin mixing really soon, so I'm guessing they're shooting to have it out around September for the tour.

it'd be cool if they released it digitally (flac, of course) early, and then released a physical copy once all art and discs had been printed

The only tour I know of that followed closely to a release was no code. Those dates were within a week or three.

Be so great if they had it out before the tour.

Backspacer had dates a month before and then the day after release. Can't believe that in the UK we missed the album tour and got the same sort of show in Aug09 then June10. Missed any chance of JGuitar, GSMF, SoS, FoN.

Still Dime, at least we got Supersonic. 8-)

Johnny Ramones anniversary today funnily enough. He was listening to rock n roll radio as he died I heard today.

Yeah Backspacer was released between legs of a tour. Getting the album, then seeing them play the songs live for the first time a day later was pretty cool

We got debuts of The End and Supersonic plus early airings of GS and The mighty Fixer. 9 months later we AtW, JB and UK. Not bad but I wanted more rock. Of The Earth helped though.

I really like the enthusiasm of a new album tour. The sets change alot night to night as the songs get worked in.

are they on the road in the fall? I'd love to see the Frames open for PJ if more dates are announced.

I mailed their manager. Sadly they haven't been asked(and they played jazzfest and its a rival festival it seems) plus the lads are on tour in Europe around that time.

I'm hoping they get to support PJ someday. It'd be my dream come true. Beyond that even. Someday.. Hopefully.

Yeah but I mean you're not gonna cross Pj. They're gonna get your gig sold out.

Just some fun speculation here...

For over half the albums (5), the band finished recording in April/May. All 5 of those were released around the Fall, with 2 as early as Aug (Ten/No Code), 1 in Sept (Backspacer), 1 in Oct (Vs.), and 1 in Nov (RA).

For 2 albums, the band finished recording in Sept/Oct, with those albums released in Dec (but Vitalogy was a bit of an anomaly in this case) and Feb of the following year (Yield).

For 2 albums, the band finished recording in Jan/Feb, with both albums released in May (Binaural/PJ).

Scenario A: The band is back in the studio and hard at work, hoping to finish recording by May. We get a new album by Sept, just in time for the U.S. Fall Tour! (Repeat of the Backspacer scenario)

Scenario B: The band doesn't want to feel rushed so they take their time this summer and wrap-up the recording early Fall. We don't hear any new material on the U.S. Fall Tour and the album is released in early 2014.

Scenario C: The band wants to hold off the final recording sessions until after the Fall tour (similar to what they did with PJ). They finish recording early next year and we get an album by May '14, followed by a summer '14 tour.

Putting aside the current drummer/"songwriter"....

My point is that the fans would have been better served if Pearl Jam had made more records since releasing Ten.

Just heard of the earth for the first time. It's probably they're best song of the last decade.

Man, that song rules.

Remember when they debuted it in 2010? I remember pretty much being reduced to a babbling mess upon hearing the audience recording they played on PJ Radio.
