We had our election polling day on friday..
count was on saturday and some seats are still being counted and recounted ad nauseum at this very minute..

long and the short of it is, we're in a political vacuum that's probably gonna destabilise all sorts of stuff (apple/google/facebook will be forced to move out of ireland and not pay tax in some other country) but joke aside it's not good.

I think Mitt Romney is overestimating the republican base. They've been courting the dregs for ages and now it's going to bite them in the ass.

He's a pretty weak replacement for Stewart I think. Lowest common denominator pandering. I know Trump is a cartoon, but do we really have to sink to his level?

Not really crazy. Both Bush and Reagan had some "progressive" ideas on illegal immigration. Reagan has often been referred to as the "grandfather of amnesty."

Its just crazy how far the GOP has come, or fallen. How Reagan is looked upon as a god int he party, and yet the current party leaders are so far from any resemblance.

‘I’m Trump All The Way,’ Says Man Who Will Die From Mishandling Fireworks Months Before Election

Image
YOUNGSTOWN, OH—According to statements made Monday by local resident David Kearney, a 36-year-old delivery driver who will die in a fireworks mishap months before the general election, he is “a Trump man all the way.” “I like what Trump has to say—he isn’t afraid to take on anyone,” said the man who, long before November, will be pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby hospital after duct-taping several M-80s together in his backyard, lighting the self-rigged explosive device, and then, after accidentally knocking the mortar tube on its side while attempting to run away from the blast, will suffer severe trauma as his “Stone Cold” Steve Austin shirt and cargo shorts are set ablaze while his horrified family looks on. “The politicians in Washington lie to our faces. Trump’s the only one who tells the truth. He’ll turn the country around.” Kearney said he was convinced to vote for Trump by the candidate’s debate performances, events he was narrowly able to witness following a close call last summer when his ATV overturned at high speed after he lost control of the vehicle while firing a handgun at a stop sign.

Realistically, Bernie needs to win all 4 of the competitive races (Colorado, Minnesota, Massachusetts and Oklahoma) tonight to stay in the race.

It'd also help if he wins 86% of the vote in Vermont so he can sweep the delegates.

Even that won't enough even if the rest of the primary goes 50/50 for him. He'll stay either way, and he should, but I expect his purpose to shift away from beating Hillary and towards trying to influence the party platform and issues that this election is about.
