Until they fuck something up I would just assume they know what they're doing, over acontextualized internet rumors endlessly discussed by hordes of overbearing nervous fans who have little understanding of how the process of movie making works and are desperate to have something to talk about until the movie actually drops.

I suspect this will be the most lopsided box office year ever. Though I presume the HP movie will do fine. When does that come out? It wouldn't shock me if Disney was waiting for the summer season to end, and for HP to be done. Then they can use a star wars trailer to help along Dr. Strange (which is an unusual release for an MCU movie, I believe) and basically be the only movie anyone talks about for the two months prior to release.

I kind of did earlier. The movie comes out in 4 months. They don't need to control the conversation now. If you start your big push that's an obnoxious pace to have to keep up for that long. The only advantage to a long campaign is building up awareness. If there is one property in the universe that does not need that help it's star wars.
