The toys don’t make me mad. I find it more or less funny. I am really in a place at this point in my life that I want them to deliver music more than collectibles - and that includes the view finder, posters, shirts, etc. I mean I guess if I want a particular thing I will get it, but I do want more music related stuff - that’s why I am legitimately excited about the Peloton stuff. A vehicle to hear more Pearl Jam programming is cool to me. The other stuff is just stuff.

I think 99% of the merchandise is dumb. I'm just looking for new music and getting to a concert now and then.

Think of Apple and how they used to only make a computer. Now they are making watches, phones, TVs, TV shows, a car, software.

Pearl Jam is a brand. They are much more than songs now. Just like other brands that start small with one popular item, they’ve expanded their portfolio, which was launched with the extremely popular “music”. They’ve reached into different markets with different products. The band members are just spokesmen for their products. Their concerts are just advertisements. Pearl Jam isn’t a band, it’s a company.

Funkos are just cool. I have a Giannis one on the windowsill behind me that brings a smile to my face every time I walk into my office. That's more enjoyment than Lightning Bolt has given me.
