Any hope or effort to message to the 70% of the country that isn't Fox-dependent is literally shutting down. Not as a careful, calculated plan, but because senators don't want the independents back home to see their naked capitulation, and the White House has literally surrendered the non-Fox audience as untrainable.

This approach, if it lasted a year, could actually cost Republicans the Senate. It would also end any Republican currently in a seat they previously won by less than 12 points. They'll either get fed up, lose, or retire.

I find it fascinating how, after 9/11, the country really believed that only Republicans had the fortitude to keep us safe, and now our foreign policy is collapsing and our government is potentially incapable of responding to any unexpected threat because Republicans are scared of a fat and impotent bully.

I think maybe you’ve misdiagnosed the fundamental arrangements , McP. The post-9/11 party saw the war hawks cozying up to the energy barons because it was a match made in heaven. They’re now trying to meld the free-market wing with the populist wing, which is much trickier.

I've not seen anything to date that would make me have to think Ivanka has a brain or is capable of any sort of critical thought.
