Interesting to keep an eye on the Metracritic score for Gigaton. 81 so far which is close to the highest any PJ album has received but of course it could drop after album release as more reviews come in.

Pitchfork haven't reviewed it yet - that'll certainly drag it down.

True, but Better Homes and Gardens will bump it right back up again.

and then just release those 4 songs, call it an ep or whatever the eff, just release it. they had some great ideas on this album.

A lot of reviews don’t give out scores so Metacritic is a little funky.

Also, a B+ only being an 83 goes against everything I learned in school.

Negative or positive. It undoes everything you’ve contributed yourself.

They mean nothing except It’s in a format you can wipe your ass with. It doesn’t make it any more legitimate than anyone’s if that’s the only use it actually has.

I interpreted that "darkness" as being about their split with BoB, who is essentially a friend, and the decision to start the project again
