I am not for violence at all but in this case it seems like tit for tat. Cops keep killing people, people are burning shit down in response. The fact that white citizens with guns (read: vigilantes) are being tacitly approved of by the local authorities and allowed to walk around with guns fully ready leads me to believe that the riots and craziness is almost being encouraged at this point.

People are protesting police abuse. Additional police abuse won't help things here.
No, attacking and burning down the livelihoods of people who have nothing to do with their problems is not tit-for-tat. It's brainlessly attacking innocent people, and those people have every right to protect themselves and their property with deadly force. And a look at the reduced level of rioting tonight in Kenosha suggests that you are wrong that defending yourself with guns encourages more rioting.
How many illegally armed 17 year olds were out shooting people last night in Kenosha?

I'd also like a source on this.

He was shot for being black.
My opinion is significantly more complex than either of those sentences.

Shortest way I can address it? Maybe ...

Replace "warrior cop" training with "crisis de-escalation" training.

Good thing Rittenhouse knew the criminal histories of the people he was shooting at.

I did a quick Google search before I posted. I was on my way out the door for my run. I am now back from my run. I have done another Google search.

What do you think I've found?

I truly appreciate the sentiment but what are they trying to achieve? What do they do for the next shooting?

Is it a strike or just a postponement of games?

At some point just scrap the season then.

Ali made a very principled stand and paid a heavy price for it. While i get the frustration and need for change, this is just advertising for BLM. Did BLM need advertising at this point in time? Is there anyone in America who does know what BLM means and what it generally stands for? Though as you said it doesn't have any unified goals or objectives.

A lot of people made principled stand and paid heavy prices for it, and change did happen because of it.

This stuff is part of the fabric of the country. Im not saying this is actually gonna lead to real change but lets fucking hope so.

When white protestors storm the capital, or take over government buildings, nobody says "well whats the point, its just pandering"

Societal change movements famously achieve maximum branding exposure and then just sit around waiting to happen.

Or they grow and thrive on public showings of support which help to combat the opposing establishment narrative that they are fringe movements and not, in fact, popular.

I can’t remember which.

Huh? "White protestors" are not a multi-billion dollar industry with a product to sell.

I am not in the US but are you trying to tell me that BLM is seen as a fringe movement? It is certainly not depicted that way in any media I've come across.

So the 17 year old that shot those people called a friend after killing the first guy to tell them that he killed someone. And even though Wisconsin is an open-carry state, it is illegal for anyone under 18 to do so. Stand-up kid, bright future I'm sure.

This is an avenue I’d be curious to explore, not to make a point but to get some clarity for myself:

1. What is your impression, from the outside looking in, of what the republican party position is on BLM? This is a (broadly speaking) ruling party aiming for re-election. Would you describe their messaging as indicative of a recognition that the movement has majority support? Or would you say they more generally frame it as a problematic minority group?

2. Do American Conservative posters here...macphisto in particular...consider BLM to be a movement with a majority support in America?

There's an exemption for long guns, so he's probably fine. Did you read any of the court filings? He didn't start any altercation, was being chased by a guy and heard a gunshot, turned around and shot the guy that kept coming at him. He fulfilled every obligation to retreat from the threat on both occasions. Was he supposed to surrender his weapon to an angry mob and just hope everything turned out okay?

Even if he was bragging, he did not instigate anything. The genius Rosenbaum thought it was a good idea to try to take his rifle and paid dearly for it.
