That line is weird. It sounds like it could be about the afterlife, so if she decides to stay on earth, he'll understand and wait for her on the otherside. Which is still odd cause it sounds like hed be happy if she topped herself and followed him.

Yeah, I have considered that. And it kind of looked interesting against my criminal film noire story.

It's called sirens, he mentions them a few times but doesn't really make any real use of the image or what they represent. Bit of a disconnect there, ed.

His father died young from MS, I'm sure that's the kind of thing that's going to weigh on a guy's mind once he has kids of his own. It doesn't seem particularly far-fetched.

Yeah. I don't know, I thought about that too. The sirens are coming for me, it's a bit like my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard. The second verse could be about Ed cheating and his wife forgiving him, and if she choose to stay, he'll wait for her anger to subside. But I don't know, this makes Ed sound like a philanderer and a bit of a jerk.
