Backspacer (Trim the fat edition)

they already trimmed the fat i guess....one of the best things about this one is that is really a short album, so even if i dont care about UK, Supersonic or Just Breathe for example, im not in a hurry to change them.

Its been a while since i listened to this one anyway.

supersonic is only song on backspacer i dont care for, and I think the brevity of the album hurts the song - the album is quick enough that it doesnt need a breather, and even the more emotionally intense moments feel lighter so it doesnt need a pallate cleanser. I get not wanting only 10 quick songs but I’d rather have a four song run of

Amongst the Waves - Unthought Known - Speed of Sound - Force of Nature where they can build off each other’s momentum without the interruption

If they ever play a full album Backspacer show (not saying they should), it would be a huge missed opportunity if they didn't play Better Man after The End.

if I ever was given the chance to write a setlist I'd just tell them to play all of backspacer into lightning bolt in order. The bootleg sales would be through the roof. I'd buy so many copies!

Bootleg sales would be through the roof because it would be their last ever show due to some band members being killed in the riot.

speed of sound into retrograde would be a nice combo

i love force of nature but those first 20 seconds do it no favors
