The news that Burrows sprained his hand during the all this might be my favourite story of the season so far.

That was awesome! You don't see such creative moves very often since most things have been done before, but that was completely new.

I actually love what the Sabres are doing. As it stands right now, they could have two 1st (assuming the conditions on the Blues picks are met and the Isles defer) and three 2nd round picks in 2014 and three 1st and three 2nd round picks in 2015. This comes after drafting 8 times in the first two rounds the last two years. In making their recent trades, they've also added assets in Moulson, Halak and Stewart, who they could flip to further the rebuilding process. They're being smart in tearing things down rather than doing some kind of half-measures to try to tread water. There's a lot of young talent in their system, and it's only going to increase over the next couple of years.

Boy, Jack and Brick are basically co-presidents of the "Bergeron for Lady Bing/Selke Awards Club" tonight. Usually I don't mind them, but this is getting kind of annoying.

2008:
1 Tyler Myers (Top 4 Dman with a lot of upside still)
1 Tyler Ennis (Top 6 winger/center with decent scoring)
2 Luke Adam (Promising Prospect)

2009:
1 Zack Kassian (Shows promise, but was flipped for Cody Hodgson)
3 Brayden McNabb (Future top 4 Dman, maybe top pairing potential)
4 Marcus Foligno (Power Forward that can score, but is slumping currently)

2010:
1 Mark Pysyk (Perhaps their best D prospect, stay at home D man)

2011:
1 Joel Armia (Very promising forward that is doing well in the AHL)

2012:
1 Mikhail Grigorenko (The kid can score, but needs to work for it, could be a great player)
1 Zemgus Girgensons (Great effort and can score, Two-way Forward. Core player)
2 Jake McCabe (WJC hero for the US, top 4 potential)

2013:
1 Rasmus Ristolainen (will be a top pairing D man in his future)
1 Nikita Zadorov (Big, fast, works for it. Yet another top 4 potential)

Those are just the cream of the crop of the first few rounds from the past few years. They've done okay in my book and there's a new GM in charge of drafting regardless of that.

I still can't believe St. Louis asked to be traded based on all the Olympics crap. I want to believe there's more to it than that, but it sounds pretty ridiculous.

Hemsky to Ottawa, Dubnyk to Montreal. The trade deadline tends to disappoint as far as big names being moved, but there are still a couple hours left. Even the minor/mid-level trades are fun to follow, though, so I can't really complain.

I like Buffalo's deal for Fasching, that kid was a beast as a true freshman at Minnesota this year.

Congratulations Garth Snow! You managed to turn Matt Moulson, a first and a second into Sebatien Collberg and a second!

I like that Moulson has become some kind of star player. He's realistically a third liner which he proved in Buffalo with his 20 goal pace. Snow should've never given up a first in that deal, but I'll take Collberg. He's more than they would've gotten if they had kept Moulson.
