I nominate Harmless to write the Pj obituary.
Sorry Stip.

There's a radio interview in which Mike says BO'B "helped him" arrange it. Bleurgh.
oh
I still like it
That's kind of his job (Brendan's, I mean).

Like I said before. I don't have a problem with the role Brendan plays, I just don't think he plays it very well from an aesthetic point of view.

If BO'B takes them even further down the pop road I don't think I'll want another one, for my own sanity. It's too weird.

I definitely think we won't be seeing another Pearl Jam album for years to come if ever. They are all off doing other things. Unless this tour and album somehow reinvigorates them. The only one that seems to truly care is Jeff. Coincidentally, I believe he's the only one without kids. So he's all about the music, whereas the others are busy with families and other stuff.

Isn't that what producers do though? Maybe Mike just had an idea..just a few chords and Brendan helped him develop it. Maybe Mike sought his help because he didn't know where to take it? Maybe Mike liked where he took it because that's what ended up being the final product. I'm really just not getting all the BoB hate lately. Maybe this is what the band wants to sound like? He does work for the band after all.

The massive irony is that he used to. Which means that just like Matt, they're kind of together because of him. I used to complain about Matt's shortcomings and get told that he's the "glue" for the band and I should be grateful because they wouldn't be together if it wasn't for his enthusiasm or something and, well, that year and a half break they took between sessions for LB implies to me that it's the same deal with BO'B. It's not Ed's fault. There should probably just be a mass migration to RNDM for the fans.

I love the songs but are they really by Pearl Jam? I've never been a fan of BO'B's production or studio management or mega promotion campaign. But anyway, that's boring and I've done it to death. I don't know how much I'm hearing is Pearl Jam because it's all so different.

And this is in spite of me liking these songs. It's an uncomfortable and ultimately fairly depressing feeling and I can't adequately explain it.

People say well, they're independent, so they can choose who they like.
But well, OK, why don't they choose Stone? He has a recording studio. Jeff is doing the artwork anyway, they can hire video producers if they want. Kapow! Lightning Bolt.

I dunno, it's not the songs. I'm just not having a great time of it, that's all. Carry on.

The RNDM record is way better than what i've heard so far from LB
