I feel like they don't enjoy making music with each other as much. I dunno why. Hence why being able to do what they like has translated into not much really. Or well, didn't Bo'B say in one of the many interviews that they don't record together that often? We never really hear 'oh this is a song me and stone wrote one day when we we're hanging out and goofing round'. It's probably the family stuff really, can't begrudge them for that.

People work full work weeks and still have plenty of time for their families. These guys recorded about 6 total weeks in 5 years. They just don't have great chemistry anymore as songwriters.

I think the "fixing" of songs, yet still being friends, can be explained by the fact that they just don't have time in the studio to jam and cook the songs. That's for young people. They just have ideas, and BO'B says "That one, that one, that one", and puts them into an electrical gadget then says "Play!" The word "Efficiency" was used a lot during Backspacer. Do other bands use words like that? Or do they go in and jam it out till it's done? Jamming *may* be for young people, but it's also for people with divergent styles who want to make a unified, consistent showcase of a band's best music.

Nah, I think it's okay to obsess about PJ in the months before an album release. A couple months after it's out and we see them on tour, we'll all go back to not thinking abut them at all for another five years . . . . .
