I don't see him resigning. I think he's daring the Senate to toss him out of office. And even if he gets tossed, I think he can still run in 2020 and the electoral map, sadly, still favors his brand of politics.

They can actually vote on whether or not he can hold public office again as well as vote to remove him from office. One would think that if they saw him as unfit to continue to remain in office, they would consider him unfit to hold that office again. But...
