There’s a press sheet from a station with todays date that says this

‘NOT FOR PUBLICATION/BROADCAST...Conor McGregor presented himself to gardai at 5pm yesterday in connection with recent assault allegation in the city....Gardai have 24 hours to question the MMA fighter...NB consult morning editor for ‘DIRECTON’

There’s also footage of him doing the rounds on WhatsApp at a coke party and one of his entourage dropping him off fresh clothes and shortly after picking him up to go to the police station.
Press here haven’t named him outright as it’s only an allegation so far and they don’t want their asses sued into oblivion by someone with the means to do so but it’s common knowledge around town that it’s him and that he really brutalised the woman involved.

He’s not really the story for me. This has been all over the media since the lady reported. Yet the only coverage has been ‘unnamed sports star’. But it’s common knowledge it’s him. And they aren’t reporting it. It’s really bizarre. Don’t know what the police are up to. The force here is more secretive than the CIA

Claiming one of the biggest sports stars, if not the biggest, in the world was arrested for rape isn't the story?

But that’s just it. Everyone knows it’s him and even an allegation usually gets reported and names given. Not so here. It’s really bizarre.

It’s strange is the era of #MeToo and internet vigilantes that something like that would be to be kept quiet for long.

There were two rugby players from the Ireland team accused of rape and last year it went to trial in Belfast. Plenty of evidence and witnesses but basically came down to he said she said. And they got away with it. The woman that made the allegation and her family are still dealing with the consequences, you can imagine the furor online her being called a tramp and endless people defending these two guys just cos of their status but also that knuckle dragger toxic Male bullshit you see online.
The two players were dropped from the Ireland team but hit new contracts with league teams elsewhere.

So there’s very recent context for press not wanting to jump the gun but at the same time have you ever known the press and tabloids not to have a field day with even a whiff of such an allegation?

It’s all really weird. I can’t post the pic from the radio station briefing but I posted the text earlier. It’s all really weird. McGregor is also deeply tied into the biggest criminal elements in Dublin and launders money for them in various ways so it could well be another explanation. It’s a small town socially cool and geographically and there’s not many degrees of separation so it could be nobody wants to say anything until police act.

Latest doing the rounds is she’s been paid and threatened to withdraw the allegation. And you’ll notice he’s all over twitter and MMA news today looking to fight some new kid. His PR or UFCs at least knows what it’s doing.

Is anybody keeping up with these newer Michael Jackson allegations?

I've done a lot of reading on the prior cases and I've long maintained that the evidence shows that Jackson was innocent (of everything other than being very weird, very naive, and very creepily obsessed with childhood), and was just surrounded by shitty people who wanted to take his money. This new information may show me otherwise, but I haven't watched the doc yet
