The MCIS tour in ‘96 was my first real concert, but it was with Matt Walker on drums. Still incredible, and one of my most precious concert memories — the only one of my childhood-hero bands that I got to see while they were really living their moment.

Thankfully I got to see Jimmy with Zwan in ‘03. Weird scenario where I’ve seen all of the original Pumpkins, just never all at once.

zeb wrote:The 96 show was, of course, the original lineup, and was on the MCIS tour when they'd play the Mustang scene from Bullitt in full on a projector before they came to out to perform. Wild times, and unlikely to be topped by anything they could possibly offer now.
I was at one of the Spectrum shows, just before Melvoin died and Jimmy was sacked.

I feel like 33 should have gotten old by now. There’s something timelessly charming about it.What a goddamn killer song

One of Billy's best vocal performances. And the lyrics are beautiful. It is indeed timeless.

Fun fact: they left the "click" track in from the demo, because it just fit. Flood is a genius for steering Billy so well.

I paid too much to add SD and PI to my vinyl collection. The grail now is MCIS but the cost of repress is INSANE - I may never climb that mountain.

Billy is a guest on the Conan o brien podcast. It’s very good so far. Great spirits.

Oh, thanks for the reminder. I thought it might've only been released on SiriusXM, but I see it's also on Spotify.

First time since 1997 by the way. Crowd is all "aw yeh, song's awright I guess."

Twats, the lot of them.
