The list of golden globe nominees is... I haven’t even heard of half of those.

The others are quite similar in those subjects i mentioned before.
I've seen Dogtooth, The Lobster, and The Killing of a Sacred Deer and there is absolutely a "schtick." They all feel very similar. The trailer for The Favourite looked like more of the same.

Doesn’t know what it is. A period drama about an English queen but it’s serious then the office.
Avoid it.

Go see the Oscar bait one with seersha ronan and the Margot Robbie chick instead
Uhhh what? This movie was excellent.

i saw Dogtooth and Deer. Same framing, same acting choices, same narrative decisions, same use of the score. And i agree that the trailer for the new one was in that vein...maybe Joe is right and he did a different movie..but damn even the poster is similar to the other ones.

I've got a ton of movies I've been sitting on for like over a decade. A bunch are westerns. Basically since I had kids. They are older now I've gotten more time to do whatever I want and the 50 movie in a year thing has me inspired.
 Same here: My son's finally old enough to watch these stupid movies with me.

How do you even know when you have only seen 1 other film by the director?

That's too bad. I didn't initially realize who made The Favorite. I was looking forward to it.

Honest question.
The thing seems to be it’s an awful film but the last 20 minutes is awesome and will make you forget how bad all that came before was.

Be honest. Is that the case?
Nah, i really enjoyed the entire thing. The ending and the Live Aid performance was remarkable though. I was almost in tears and had chills. They magically captured what it was like to be in an arena screaming and singing along with your favorite band. Brilliant.

Malek was amazing to watch.

Im not a huge queen fan nor do i know the in's and out's of their career or drama....I found it super entertaining and a great movie. I also left thinking "Fuck, I take Queen for granted"

Of course, it is a music biopic movie and those always tread on ridiculous ground but overall I absolutely loved it.
I thought it was great. Strange that they felt the need to change history while making it, but the feel of the movie, the acting and the music held a very high standard. The changes in history didn't ruin it for me, and the story worked very well. I guess, the less you know from before, the better.

What I'm saying is that it is 100% not The Lobster. Obviously, I can't speak to any other film. I can know because I've seen both The Lobster and The Favourite.
