In the last 24 hours, we have:

- The former AG saying abuse of power is not a crime.

- A mob effort to shut down an investigation into impeachable behaviors that the administration more or less already admitted to.

- The very serious rule of law party took pictures and repeatedly tweeted from inside a SCIF.

- Trump’s lawyer insisting in court that the president cannot be investigated even if he personally commits a premeditated murder. Not “he can’t be convicted.” He cannot be investigated.

You guys ready for every day to look like this, for a while?

It's all out there and 45% of the country doesn't want to or hasn't seen the reality of the situation. One thing that gives me hope is Foxnews website has "serious" articles underneath the crazy headlines the last few days. Ie. the way they covered the Pelosi walkout, Bill Taylor's statement, etc. but I am sure that isn't being covered on the TV part of foxnews.

I’m not sure that’s an accurate summary. Impeachment is always hard to poll. Clinton’s impeachment topped out at 48% support (for an investigation, not removal), but his own popularity overrode concerns about wrongdoing.

By comparison, Trump’s popularity continues to trend downward. A number of the people who don’t (yet) support impeachment disapprove of his policies and/or behavior. They are almost all independents. There is less risk of blowback for those pursuing impeachment, less motivation for those independents to view any future information in a way that is sympathetic to Trump, and a hard ceiling on his ability to climb out.
