Re: Election 2020
Congrats guys!!! We did it!!!
https://www.wsj.com/articles/demographi ... 02?mod=mhpPresident Trump’s 2020 election strategy relies largely on the white, working-class base that he excited in 2016. But he faces a demographic challenge: The electorate has changed since he was last on the ballot in ways likely to benefit Democrats.
Working-class, white voters are projected to decline by 2.3 percentage points nationally as a share of eligible voters, compared with the last election, because they are older and therefore dying at a faster rate than are Democratic groups. As those voters pass on, they are most likely to be replaced by those from minority groups or young, white voters with college degrees—groups that lean Democratic.
That means Mr. Trump will have to coax more votes from a shrinking base—or else find more votes in other parts of the electorate.

I'm not sure how that follows your post unless you stopped read after the initial graphic. The polling data is a bit old, it's possible those states have swung left in the last 90 days.
Biden 29
Sanders 19
Warren 18
Buttigieg 8
Klobuchar 4
Bloomberg 3
Yang 3
Booker 2
Steyer 2

Re: Election 2020
When it comes to polling average, he's up to about 5.2% (including the poll you linked to there). Still good enough for 4th place nationally. There just haven't been enough polls of early voting states to see if he's had any growth there--last high-quality poll in Iowa ran 12/12-12/16, NH 12/3-12/8, NV 11/6-11/13 (not a typo), SC 12/6-12/11.

Lincoln Chafee served as a US Senator as a Republican, served as a Governor as an Independent, ran for President as a Democrat, and now is running for President as a Libertarian. My wife referred to this today as "hitting for the cycle."

Re: Election 2020
He was appointed to the Senate by the governor to replace his father after he died (had served for almost 25 years). You may recall the 2016 Democratic primary debate where he made clear he didn't read the bill that repealed the Glass-Steagall Act before voting on it when he arrived:4/5 wrote:How was he as Governor/Senator?Simple Torture wrote:Lincoln Chafee served as a US Senator as a Republican, served as a Governor as an Independent, ran for President as a Democrat, and now is running for President as a Libertarian. I believe it was. That may have also been the debate where Jim Webb talked about the guy he iced in Vietnam.
