HBO: Game of Thrones (Song of Ice and Fire)

Loved the last episode. Tempted to say it was my favorite. Mostly because I didn't know what was going to happen. I'm sure past episodes would have been more impactful otherwise.

Because last night’s episode of Thrones taught us that only three things can stop a rampaging army of pickax-wielding, undead popsicles: obsidian, Valyrian steel, and 6 to 10 inches of shallow water.

so a lot of the zombie army looked like they had been decomposed and dead for awhile. i was under the impression that the white walkers can only raise those that they have killed themselves (like we saw at the end of the battle scene last night). if that's the case, why did the walkers wait until some of the dead decomposed before raising them?

Wights aren't supposed to be skeletons as there is supposed to be flesh on the dead they raise, but the show doesn't care

Yeah, this. That scene read very much to me like a choice not to pursue. They decimated the Wildling camp and added a few hundred soldiers. This was a chess move. They aren't trying to win anything yet.

Man. You give folks at least one Tyrion jaw session and a battle sequence longer than 2 minutes and everyone loses their shit.

It was a good episode. The Tyrion/Danny scenes were by far the best parts of the episode for me. The battle was the best one they've put on the show thus far. It was a far more successful sequence than both Blackwater and the battle at The Wall. But the thing did go on for about 10 minutes too long.
