Re: NBA Thread
I know it was a different era of basketball and the context mattered, but can we stop talking about how Michael's Shrug game was some historically impressive performance? 4 of the threes were wide open attempts. Even my wife, who was casually watching and catching up on Instagram, made the observation.

Re: NBA Thread
At the time it was a finals record. If MJ decided he should hit 10 threes in a half like your dork idol Curry would he would do that. It wasn't as much of a part of the game back then.

Just how wild was Michael Jordan hitting six 3-pointers in a half? That season, Jordan was 27-for-100 from long range in the regular season. In the first 16 playoff games that season, he was 5-of-16. So just to prove a point that he shouldn't be in the same conversation as Clyde Drexler, Jordan goes out and drops what is still an NBA-record 35 points in the first half.

If MJ thought being the Goat required being the NBAs all time three point leader, he would have done it.spike wrote:yeah the context is important hereverb_to_trust wrote:At the time it was a finals record. So did airplanes and hotel rooms not have smoke detectors in the ‘90s?

MJ stated he has tremendous respect for Isaiah as a point guard. Second best in the history of the NBA behind Magic. He just despises him as a person.VinylGuy wrote:yeah, i didnt remember it was so...profound in Michael.Bammer wrote:I was unaware of this Jordan/Thomas hate.

Re: NBA Thread
Breaking the record by two 3's is a big deal no matter how wide open he was. I didn't realize he was motivated by being compared to Clyde.Monkey_Driven wrote:He was wide open! Any time you think to yourself “God, what I’m doing right now is just so sad and pathetic” remember that you’re just watching the video, and someone else much more sad and pathetic than you took the time to actually make the video.Joesanity wrote:Got bored last night and started watching Sasha Pavlovic highlights on youtube.

Jordan being pissed that people had the nerve to put Dan Marjerle on the same level as him was awesome.

Krause liked Thunder Dan. Can't believe he didn't end up a Bull in the late 90s
