I wasn’t nuts about Gigaton but, even where it fell down, it still felt like the first authentically Pearl Jam record since S/T, in the sense that it didn’t reflect anyone else’s vision of what the record should be apart from the members of the band.

Yea this is actually pretty sweet if you ask me. Gear you're not used to playing makes you work a bit harder to get what you want out of it. Also outside their comfort zone which they really haven't been out of since binaural

Agreed, an instrumental album would be interesting

Also iggys new record is great. It's not littered with pop singles. Often weird as hell but very iiggu. So, watt can do just fine
