You must do this on purpose, but you're always so earnest.

I just don't have all day to go though the 60+ pages I've missed since last night.
Sorry.

If only we had a separate thread where reviews are compiled

No worries. On RM, I just can never tell when somebody's a dedicated and subtle troll or not. Speaking of which, maybe one could show up soon so this thread can leap up to 1000 pages.

There's a separate reviews thread that they're all being put in.

to be fair, though, they only end up in that thread if I notice the review, and there was one or two that I missed the first time they were posted.

A few things I've been wanting to get off my chest:

1. I like Riot Act a lot, but it's not in my top 4.

2. While I don't like Inside Job on the whole, it has some really nice parts in it.

3. A few people have compared some of the new tracks to Counting Crows - not in a good way. While I can understand not being a fan of theirs due to the sensitive poet/hippie-ish lyrics, I think they're musicianship and songwriting is highly underrated. Recovering the Satellites is a top 10 album for me.

Oh, and Getaway would fit very well on Rock radio today. I could see it being one of the next singles.

I'm a big Counting Crows fan; not sure I understand the hate. Swallowed Whole does musically sound like their more commercial moments, something like "Accidentally in Love". I always saw something in common with PJ and CC, and thought that if PJ ever did more poppy stuff that's probably how it should sound.

It should have been the lead single, IMO

I think lightning bolt or getaway would have been a stronger second single. I'd have waited for sirens

but what do I know?

There was a time when I was to cool to like this song. There was a time this band was to cool to write such a song. I am glad people change. Pearl Jam has formulas for how they craft songs. Its great that they can break from that formula to write a song like Sirens. It really isn't a big thing. The good news to me is judging by the video the band is all in, and they are more than coworkers. In context for the band this song is no more or less experimental than a song like In My Tree. They have done blues based hard rock, punk based hard rock, folk , pop, soft rock, moral of the story they do what they want. Some like me are rewarded ,because we like Sirens. Some will wait till there black metal song comes out in 2017. I would not put anything past these guys.
